Overview
This policy covers the Paintrix Studio app ("the App") and the paintrix.studio website ("the Website"). The App is designed with your privacy in mind: there is no account to create, your artwork stays on your device, and we collect only a small amount of usage information to improve the App.
Data the App Collects
- Usage logs: When you close a project, the App sends a short log of how it was used, such as which tools and features you used, your device type (iPad or iPhone) and your iOS version, to our server at paintrix.studio. The server stores the log together with the IP address it came from. Logs do not include your artwork, name or contact details. We use them only to understand how the App is used and to improve it.
- Feature requests: If you send a feature request from inside the App, we store the text you write together with the IP address it came from.
- Draw Together: When you start a collaboration session, our server stores the invite code and random identifiers for the project and its owner so your partner can join. The drawing itself travels directly between the two devices over an encrypted connection, and may pass through a relay server if a direct connection is not possible. We do not store the contents of shared drawings.
The App does not collect:
- Your artwork, except while you share it live with a partner in Draw Together
- Your name, email address or other contact details
- Your precise location
- Advertising identifiers. The App does not track you across other apps or websites.
Data processed by third parties:
- Apple App Store: Handles all payment processing for subscriptions. We do not have access to your payment details.
- RevenueCat: We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status. RevenueCat receives an anonymous identifier to verify your subscription. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
- Apple App Analytics: If you choose to share analytics with app developers in your device settings, Apple gives us anonymized, aggregated statistics, such as how many people use the App. This data cannot be used to identify you.
Your Artwork
All artwork you create in the App is stored on your device. If you back up a project to iCloud Drive or share an image, it is handled by Apple or by the app or service you share it with.
The Website
The Website uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors use it, for example which pages are viewed, how visitors found the site, and general information about their device, browser and approximate location (such as country or city, estimated from the IP address). Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to do this, and Google processes this data under Google's Privacy Policy.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on to stop Google Analytics from collecting data about your visits.
We Do Not Sell Your Data
We do not sell personal information, and we do not show ads in the App.
Children's Privacy
The App and the Website are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Usage logs are not used to identify or contact anyone.
Data Retention
We keep usage logs, feature requests and collaboration invites only for as long as they are useful for running and improving the App. Google Analytics data is kept according to the data retention setting in our Google Analytics account. Your subscription status is managed by Apple and RevenueCat under their own privacy policies.
Your Rights
You can delete the App at any time, which removes all data it stored on your device. To cancel a subscription, use your Apple Account settings. To ask us to delete usage logs or feature requests sent from your device, contact us.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
